text the WA Recovery Help Line at 366-789-1511<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h1 id=\"state\">STATE<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">Washington State Department of Health (DOH) released the latest <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.wa.gov\/news\/public-inquiries-state-covid-19-assistance-hotline-1-800-525-0127-covid-19-data-shows-high\" href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.wa.gov\/news\/public-inquiries-state-covid-19-assistance-hotline-1-800-525-0127-covid-19-data-shows-high\" rel=\"nofollow\">statewide situation report on COVID-19<\/a> yesterday, and found that case counts rebounded after Christmas and appear to be increasing steeply in the most recent data, which is still incomplete.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The flat and declining case count trends seen in mid-to-late December may be due to fewer people seeking care or getting tested over the holidays, rather than an actual decrease in COVID-19 activity.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Hospitalization trends show a similar decline through Dec. 30 followed by a rebound in early January.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">COVID-19 transmission continues to plateau at a level above 1.0, meaning the number of people becoming infected is increasing.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Both Pierce and King Counties experienced declining case counts through late December with post-Christmas rebounds, and appear to be approaching or exceeding peak November levels in recent, incomplete data.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The estimated overall percentage of Washington state residents with active COVID-19 infection remains close to peak estimates for late March 2020.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The data can be found on the dept of health&#8217;s dashboard, and comes from analysts and researchers at the Institute for Disease Modeling, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Microsoft AI for Health.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h1 id=\"regional\">REGIONAL<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Tacoma Pierce County Health Department reported 181 new COVID 19 cases today and 423 cases yesterday, noting that yesterday&#8217;s high case count included cases from Tuesday&#8217;s undercount due to lab processing delays.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Of the 25 COVID-related deaths in Pierce County so far this week, one included a man in his 50s with no underlying health conditions.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The County&#8217;s average cases per day over the last 2 weeks is 284, and with a 6-day lag to account for data accuracy, the case rate per 100,000 people is 441.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">Black and Healthy Pierce County is a new online resource for COVID-19 information, community conversations and support.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li
