If you text FRONTLINE to 741741, you&#8217;ll be connected with a crisis counselor trained to help frontline workers in the fight against COVID.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Teens can call or text the Teen Link number at 866-833-6546<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">And individuals struggling with substance use or addiction can call or text the WA Recovery Help Line at 366-789-1511<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h1 id=\"state\">STATE<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">Washington state residents will soon be able to <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.spokesman.com\/stories\/2021\/jan\/01\/are-you-eligible-for-a-covid-19-vaccine-washington\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spokesman.com\/stories\/2021\/jan\/01\/are-you-eligible-for-a-covid-19-vaccine-washington\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">determine their own eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines<\/a> using an online program called PhaseFinder.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">According to the state&#8217;s vaccine advisory committee, facilities and providers administering vaccines will rely on recipients&#8217; Industries at 360-902-5400<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">Another <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/RCW\/default.aspx?cite=26.51&amp;full=true\" href=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/RCW\/default.aspx?cite=26.51&amp;full=true\" rel=\"nofollow\">new law<\/a> involves so-called \u201cabusive litigation.\u201d<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level3\">\n<div class=\"li\">It is designed to keep domestic abusers from using the court system as a method of controlling or harassing their targets.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level3\">\n<div class=\"li\">Targets of abuse now request an \u201corder restricting abusive litigation\u201d by a current or former intimate partner who has been found by courts to have committed domestic violence.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level3\">\n<div class=\"li\">The text of the full law can be found online by looking up RCW 26.51 at leg.wa.gov.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">Another law <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.king5.com\/article\/news\/health\/new-washington-law-caps-insulin-costs-at-100-per-month\/281-33535cec-d5c3-4f87-b955-968ab22a9a0a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.king5.com\/article\/news\/health\/new-washington-law-caps-insulin-costs-at-100-per-month\/281-33535cec-d5c3-4f87-b955-968ab22a9a0a\" rel=\"nofollow\">caps the cost of insulin<\/a> for diabetic patients<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level3\">\n<div class=\"li\">health plans issued or renewed on or after January 1 must cap insulin copayments, deductibles, and other forms of cost-sharing at $100 per 30-day supply.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level3\">\n<div class=\"li\">Health officials note that diabetes is a risk factor for COVID-19 complications<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level3 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">A fourth law allows someone who has been found to have abused or neglected a child to request a certificate of parental improvement by the Department of Children, Youth and Families after a minimum of five years since the last infraction.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level4\">\n<div class=\"li\">This would allow the person to work as a care provider.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level4\">\n<div class=\"li\">Additionally, the state will no longer be able to deny licenses to prospective care providers in instances when a background check reveals a crime not directly related to child safety.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level4\">\n<div class=\"li\">Nothing in law requires that agencies or businesses hire individuals with such backgrounds.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Washington State Interscholastic Activities Association, which governs high school sports, has <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenewstribune.com\/news\/coronavirus\/article248257795.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thenewstribune.com\/news\/coronavirus\/article248257795.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">delayed today&#8217;s scheduled meeting<\/a> in anticipation of \u201crevised metrics and guidelines\u201d from the governor\u2019s office regarding school-based athletics and activities.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level3\">\n<div class=\"li\">School sports were tentatively slated to begin abbreviated seasons in February<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level3\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Association has granted each WIAA league or district around the state the ability to schedule seasons that best fit their local communities.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h1 id=\"regional\">REGIONAL<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Tacoma Pierce County Health Department reported 164 new COVID 19 cases today.
