Alice Faye Show called &#8220;Get out the vote!&#8221; You can check your ballot status and get voter info at <a href=\"https:\/\/voter.votewa.gov\/WhereToVote.aspx\">votewa.gov.<\/a>\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<h1 id=\"state\">STATE<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The state Insurance Commissioner has once again <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.insurance.wa.gov\/news\/kreidler-extends-emergency-order-coronavirus-testing-and-surprise-billing-nov-24?utm_content=&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_name=&amp;utm_source=govdelivery&amp;utm_term=\" href=\"https:\/\/www.insurance.wa.gov\/news\/kreidler-extends-emergency-order-coronavirus-testing-and-surprise-billing-nov-24?utm_content=&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_name=&amp;utm_source=govdelivery&amp;utm_term=\" rel=\"nofollow\">extended emergency orders<\/a> related to the pandemic:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Health insurers must waive copays and deductibles for any consumer requiring testing for coronavirus<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Consumers are also protected from receiving surprise bills for lab fees related to medically-necessary diagnostic testing for COVID-19<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Insurers must also continue to allowing one-time early prescription refills, and may not require pre-authorization for treatment or testing of COVID-19<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">if an insurer does not have enough medical providers in its network to provide testing or treatment for COVID-19, they must allow enrollees to be treated by another provider within a reasonable distance at no additional cost.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The order is extended through November 24th.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Washington State Department of Health is seeking community feedback on how to prioritize and allocate vaccines for COVID-19 once they are approved and become available.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">A link to the feedback survey is available online in multiple languages at <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/fortress.wa.gov\/doh\/opinio\/s?s=WACOVIDVax\" href=\"https:\/\/fortress.wa.gov\/doh\/opinio\/s?s=WACOVIDVax\" rel=\"nofollow\">doh.wa.gov<\/a> in the COVID-19 vaccine section of the website.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">A <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/kuow.org\/stories\/updates-covid-19-pandemic-in-washington-state\" href=\"https:\/\/kuow.org\/stories\/updates-covid-19-pandemic-in-washington-state\" rel=\"nofollow\">study out of University of Washington<\/a> has concluded that there&#8217;s no evidence that the experimental drug hydroxychloroquine prevent people from developing Covid-19.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Researchers found those who had close contact with an infected person and took the medication were just as likely to get Covid-19.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The study also found no evidence that those who got hydroxychloroquine were less likely to develop symptoms when infected.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h1 id=\"regional\">REGIONAL<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenewstribune.com\/news\/coronavirus\/article246725806.html#storylink=cpy\">health department made note<\/a> of Monday\u2019s lower numbers compared with Friday\u2019s reported all-time high of 139 new cases in a single day and the subsequent cumulative total of more than 200 over the following two days.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">Fewer people seek testing and labs have lower staffing levels on weekends.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h1 id=\"tacoma\">TACOMA<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Tacoma City Council is taking public comment on the City Manager&#8217;s Draft 2021-2022 budget.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The hearing will be after a short regular agenda at 5:00pm and before Virtual Forum (where you can comment on non-budget issues).<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The meeting will take place via Zoom, and will be broadcast on TV Tacoma, and streamed via the city&#8217;s Facebook Live.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">On Wednesday, Oct 28th from 2 &#8211; 6 PM, the Food Is Free Project of Tacoma will be distributing Farm to Family boxes containing cooked protein, dairy, and produce at Calvary Baptist Church parking lot at S. 65th and S.
