class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@waOSPI\/k-12-internet-access-program-allows-more-students-to-learn-from-home-b3dcdabbdc74\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@waOSPI\/k-12-internet-access-program-allows-more-students-to-learn-from-home-b3dcdabbdc74\" rel=\"nofollow\">Public school students whose families are low-income<\/a> and did not have internet access before August 2020 are eligible for a state-funded program to get free internet for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year from one of 3 contracted service providers.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Potentially eligible families should be receiving information, including a promo\/offer code from a provider, from their local school districts<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Families may also contact their district to request information<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\"><a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/esd.wa.gov\/newsroom\/job-search\" href=\"https:\/\/esd.wa.gov\/newsroom\/job-search\" rel=\"nofollow\">Job search requirements for those collecting state unemployment benefits<\/a> will remain suspended through Nov. 9<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The soonest claimants may be required to actively seek work is Nov. 15.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Until then, or until the requirement is reinstated, claimants can continue to answer \u201cno\u201d to the job search question on weekly claims.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Washington State Departments of Commerce and Agriculture will be offering grants up to $5,000 to shellfish growers severely impacted by COVID-19<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Applications can be found online at <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.wa.gov\/news\/washington-state-department-health-prepares-deploy-new-rapid-covid-19-tests\" href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.wa.gov\/news\/washington-state-department-health-prepares-deploy-new-rapid-covid-19-tests\" rel=\"nofollow\">rapid COVID-19 test kits<\/a> to community health centers, tribal clinics, and critical acccess hospitals.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The tests provide results in about 15 minutes, and are approved for people with COVID-19 Central and South American regions, a Community Dialogue with local panelists exploring Afro-Latino identity in the Northwest, an online art exhibition, and a resource fair including bilingual health a virtual community meeting to discuss and answer questions about the location of a planned emergency micro-shelter site on Wednesday Oct 7 at 6pm.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The city plans to lease property at 6th Avenue and Orchard Street under the authority of the Public Health State of Emergency on Homelessness from late 2020 through class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenewstribune.com\/news\/local\/education\/article246149675.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thenewstribune.com\/news\/local\/education\/article246149675.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">pause on moving ahead with in-person schooling plans<\/a> because of <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.q13fox.com\/video\/856996\" in-person hybrid learning and continue remote virtual learning until at least Dec. 4, and not to bring young students to school for face-to-face learning in October as had been announced previously<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Puyallup schools have also paused their plans to bring back lower grades for partial in-person schooling.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Peninsula School District&#8217;s kindergardeners and 1st graders who have begun in-person schooling may remain in their hybrid program, but other grade levels will remain fully remote<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Some groups of special needs students in Tacoma will receive limited in-person schooling services, but all other
