16.2MB)<\/p><p class=\"powerpress_links powerpress_subscribe_links\">Subscribe: <a href=\"https:\/\/daily.ktqa.org\/feed\/podcast\/\" class=\"powerpress_link_subscribe powerpress_link_subscribe_rss\" title=\"Subscribe via RSS\" rel=\"nofollow\">RSS<\/a><\/p><div class=\"level1\">\n<p>Clair Bunker shares how <a href=\"https:\/\/nourishpc.org\/\">Nourish Pierce County<\/a> has been banding together with organization, the National Guard, and resident volunteers to keep the pantries and fridges of homes in Pierce County stocked with nutritious food during uncertain times, and invites all healthy individuals to volunteer to end food scarcity.<\/p>\n<p>Interview begins at <a title=\"Skip to 17:34\" href=\"https:\/\/daily.ktqa.org\/2020\/07\/24\/7-24-claire-bunker-nourish-pierce-county\/#\" onclick=\"return powerpress_stp(event);\" class=\"powerpress-skip-a\" data-pp-stp=\"1054\" data-pp-player=\"audio-277-1\">17:34<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h1 id=\"state\">STATE<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">On Thursday, Governor Inslee <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/wagovernor\/inslee-announces-rollbacks-to-some-activities-to-slow-covid-19-exposure-19003e510127\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/wagovernor\/inslee-announces-rollbacks-to-some-activities-to-slow-covid-19-exposure-19003e510127\" rel=\"nofollow\">announced modifications<\/a> to the state&#8217;s phased economic reopening plans:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Starting tomorrow, July 25th, face coverings will be required across the state in all common spaces, such as elevators, hallways and shared spaces in apartment buildings, university housing and hotels, as well as communal living facilities such as nursing homes.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Starting July 30th, indoor restaurant dining service will be limited to a maximum of 5 people per table who must be from the same household<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Table occupancy at restaurants in Phase 3 counties is reduced from 75% to 50%.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Outdoor dining and take-away remains available for small parties from different households<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Restaurants must also close gaming and social areas, such as pool tables, dart boards and video games.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Bars will be closed for indoor service, but can continue outdoor service.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Alcohol service inside of restaurants must end by 10 p.m.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Also starting July 30th, the number of individuals allowed to use fitness centers and other physical health venues at a given time will also be reduced.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">In Phase 2, only five individuals \u2014 not including staff \u2014 will be allowed for indoor fitness services at a time.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">This includes gyms, fitness studios, and indoor pools, ice rinks, volleyball courts, and tennis facilities.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Fitness center occupancy in Phase 3 will be reduced to 25%, and all group fitness classes are limited to no more than 10, not including the instructors.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Indoor family entertainment and recreation centers \u2014 like mini golf, bowling alleys, and arcades \u2014 are prohibited from opening, as well as indoor card rooms.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The governor has <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/wagovernor\/inslee-announces-rollbacks-to-some-activities-to-slow-covid-19-exposure-19003e510127\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/wagovernor\/inslee-announces-rollbacks-to-some-activities-to-slow-covid-19-exposure-19003e510127\" rel=\"nofollow\">extended a moratorium on residential evictions<\/a> through October 15. being distributed to localities across the state, earmarked for rental assistance and shelter operations<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h1 id=\"colleges\">COLLEGES<\/h1>\n<div class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\"><a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/from.wsu.edu\/president\/2020\/pullman-fall2020-online\/email.html\" href=\"https:\/\/from.wsu.edu\/president\/2020\/pullman-fall2020-online\/email.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">Washington State University announced<\/a> that it will offer full remote classes for the entire Fall 2020 semester for all Pullman-based undergraduates, with extremely limited exceptions for in-person instruction.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Graduate student plans are slated to be announced August 1st<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">University-owned residence halls will open Aug. 15 for students who have a demonstrated institutional need and are approved to live on campus.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Cougar Health Services will continue to provide medical and mental health care for WSU Pullman students.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\"><a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/seattle-news\/education\/wsu-seattle-u-to-teach-almost-all-classes-remotely-this-fall\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/seattle-news\/education\/wsu-seattle-u-to-teach-almost-all-classes-remotely-this-fall\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">The University of Washington<\/a> will determine by August 7th if all undergraduate courses will be conducted remotely, but as of now plans to teach as few as 10% of its classes in person<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\"><a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/seattle-news\/education\/wsu-seattle-u-to-teach-almost-all-classes-remotely-this-fall\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/seattle-news\/education\/wsu-seattle-u-to-teach-almost-all-classes-remotely-this-fall\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Seattle University<\/a> will be primarily virtual, with some in-person and hybrid instruction for performance-based, clinical and laboratory courses and for students living on campus, but will be adjusting its fall quarter calendar to run from September 9th to November 24th.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\"><a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/seattle-news\/education\/wsu-seattle-u-to-teach-almost-all-classes-remotely-this-fall\/\" class=\"level1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Pierce County Health Department <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tpchd.org\/Home\/Components\/Blog\/Blog\/31655\/333?fbclid=IwAR1h8YlFM_hTIpOzq1O09NdO5CDNCHAXe-x811eQLQ5g_iamXb8I5zvZK5k\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tpchd.org\/Home\/Components\/Blog\/Blog\/31655\/333?fbclid=IwAR1h8YlFM_hTIpOzq1O09NdO5CDNCHAXe-x811eQLQ5g_iamXb8I5zvZK5k\" rel=\"nofollow\">issued a recommendation<\/a> yesterday for schools in the county to begin the school year with remote learning due to the current trends in COVID-19 incidence.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">Subsequently, the following Pierce County school districts announced they will start with full-time distance learning: Bethel, Eatonville, Franklin Pierce, Orting, Puyallup, Steilacoom, Tacoma, and White River.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level2\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Tacoma school board was slated to approve a hybrid model but instead the <a class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenewstribune.com\/news\/coronavirus\/article244465027.html#storylink=cpy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thenewstribune.com\/news\/coronavirus\/article244465027.html#storylink=cpy\" rel=\"nofollow\">Superintendent declared<\/a> that the district will begin school in full remote learning, unless health guidance changes over the next six weeks<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">The Health Department director advises that in order to resume in-person schooling as soon as possible, everyone should stay close to home, wear masks, limit interactions to a small circle of friends and family, stay 6 feet from others, get tested for COVID19 if you are experiencing symptoms or are part of a heavily impacted ethnic, racial, or social group, keep hands hashed, and prioritize that any small gatherings take place outside where fresh air circulates.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1 node\">\n<div class=\"li\">The County is hiring
