The state Department of Financial Institutions is asking the public to report suspected fraudulent COVID-19 investment offers by calling the agency toll-free at 877-RING-DFI (that’s 1-877-746-4334), or via email at securities@dfi.wa.gov.

Signs of possible scams include:

an investment offer with a guaranteed high return with little or no risk
-
a sense of urgency or limited availability of detailed information surrounding the investment
-
offers by unregistered or unlicensed salespeople

The Employment Security Department asks if someone is using your personal information to claim unemployment benefits, report it by calling 800-246-9763 or emailing esdfraud@esd.wa.gov.

Beginning May 18, all passengers, visitors, and workers in the public areas of Seatac Airport will be required to wear cloth face coverings.
RE-OPENINGS

Three more rural counties have received permission to move into phase 2 of re-opening.

Pierce County is not among them.

Counties must have a population of less than 75,000 and no new cases of COVID-19 in the last three weeks.

Elective surgeries

dog walking services

vehicle and vessel sales

car washes

landscaping

drive-in religious services

curbside retail sales

Tacoma Metro Parks parks are open, but restrooms, playgrounds and other amenities are closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

If there is no parking available, people are encouraged to visit a less congested location.

Tacoma’s official Fourth of July celebration is postponed due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. MetroParks and the City hope to host a community-wide event at a later time.
