WASHINGTON STATE

  • The state Utilities and Transportation Commission has expanded financial assistance to residential gas customers struggling to pay bills because of COVID-19.
    • Cascade Natural Gas Services has already suspended disconnections for nonpayment during the pandemic, but debt for service is still accruing.
    • Customers can call Cascade Natural Gas Services at 1-888-522-1130 to discuss bill payment options.

PIERCE COUNTY

  • Pierce Transit has begun a pilot program to dispatch buses equipped with Wi-Fi hotspots to Lakewood Towne Center and the Roy Y Park-and-Ride
    • Wi-fi will be available 8am-3pm, Monday through Friday, through May 3rd.
    • Those needing internet connectivity may access wi-fi within 100 feet of busses from personal vehicles or on foot while adhering to distancing guidelines.
    • Intended users of the wifi include students and their caregivers within the Clover Park and Bethel school districts, but access is open to anyone.

TACOMA

  • The Proctor Farmers Market will be open this Saturday 9am-2pm
    • Sampling, cooking demos, musical entertainment, non-service animals, and dining are not permitted
    • Face coverings will be required
    • Customers may not touch produce or food items before purchase
