UW Medicine and Bloodworks Northwest are seeking adult volunteers who have recovered from a documented COVID-19 infection to be considered for donation of blood plasma to be used in the treatment of individuals with active infection. Those in general good health are asked to email your name and contact information to covidplasma@uw.edu or call 206-520-4212 and leave a message with your name and contact info.

Homeowners in financial distress can now call the state Department of Financial Institution’s toll-free number, 877-RING-DFI, that’s 877-746-4334, or visit www.homeownership.wa.gov to get assistance on how to contact their mortgage servicer and to learn more about their options for payment forbearance and other help.

The governor’s office has issued clarifications that in-home nannies caring for children of essential workers are also considered essential workers. Automotive repair facilities, limited automotive sales, and renewable energies are considered essential businesses as well.

Post-retirement statutory work limitations for certain retirees have been waived to allow experienced employees to return to work for essential jobs, including in medical, public health, law enforcement and other critical positions. Those nearing retirement may also remain in their positions for the duration of the emergency.
